Rescue 702 is funded largely by donations and
is staffed fully by volunteers, from those who schedule,
to our EMT's and drivers.
Our new ambulance has many features to improve
safety and to provide ease of operation all while providing
top of the line care to the community.
Some of those include:
-
A child safety seat built into the attendant's chair (at the head of the cot).
-
A new design to provide an extra level of
protection in case of side collision or roll over.
-
All LED emergency lighting to provide an
ultra high level of visibility for our safety and for the
safety of other motorists.
-
The addition of Dual Air Horns to provide an
extra level of safety at intersections.
-
A back up camera to provide ease of operation
and cut down on blind spots when backing up.
-
An inverter to provide power to our equipment
when we are away from the fire station on a call.
-
Power Mirrors to accommodate our various drivers.
-
A red and white reflective chevron to increase
visibility when approaching from the rear of the ambulance.
All items are new to this ambulance and are
not featured on our current rig.
The box is made by MED-TEC and Sold by Foster Coach in Sterling IL.
The ambulance has an International Frame and Engine.
All the internal and exterior cabinets are
virtually the same with some minor changes. This was
done to avoid confusion when we move from the old to the new.
